Dony Boy & Truth

Emerging from Woodlands, Pietermaritzburg (KwaZulu-Natal), South Africa, Dony Boy and Truth represent a new wave of hip hop and R&B talent rooted in authenticity, storytelling, and raw musical instinct.

Dony Boy, raised in Woodlands (Lokshini, PMB), began his musical journey in Grade 8 while attending Haythorn Secondary School. Despite having less than five years in the industry, he has already carved out a distinctive sound that sets him apart from his peers. Blending hip hop and R&B influences, his artistry has drawn comparisons to Usimamane and Nasty C, while maintaining a style that is uniquely his own.

Truth, also hailing from Woodlands (Site 11, Pietermaritzburg), discovered his talent at a young age. Beginning as a rapper at just 12 years old and transitioning into recording music at 17, his journey has been one of natural progression and self-realisation. His sound has been likened to artists such as Dax, NF, and Eminem, particularly for his sharp lyricism and rapid-fire delivery.

Together, Dony Boy and Truth bring a dynamic fusion of introspective lyricism, melodic versatility, and high-energy performance. Drawing influence from hip hop, R&B, and pop, their music reflects both their environment and their ambition—positioning them as artists to watch within the South African and global music scene.
